Position Summary:
Describe the positions purpose and overall role in the organization. Identify major job object! ives and initiatives.

Promotes meal assistance all patients on a daily basis. (Includes meal selection, service and retrieval) Accurately serves food and beverages to patients in accordance with the patient’s diet prescription. Verbally communicates patient concerns with the clinical dietitian i.e. education needs, inadequate meal consumption, etc.

Responsibilities:
Assists patients with making appropriate daily menu selections. Prepares, assembles and delivers patient meal trays and snacks. Calculates modified diets/fluid restrictions, calories, etc. for meals only. Stocks the pantries on the nursing units with patient food. Performs assorted kitchen duties including sanitatio! n, set-up and completing temperature logs. Utilizes automated ! tablet to record and transfer meal selections to computer.

. • Communication and Influence: Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex, and/or to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question.

. • Technical Knowledge: Full use and application of basic diet information. Able to successfully complete Hostess training and to achieve passing score on all competency tests.

. • Interpersonal Relations: The ability to develop and maintain professional, trusting, positive working relationships with patients, supervisors, nursing and ancillary staff, and managers.

Working Conditions: Describe the physical environment in which the job works and any special physical qua! lifications required (safety hazards, visual/hearing acuity or unusual conditions). Working is in area that is adequately lighted and ventilated. Physical Demands: Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work: average agility and long period of walking, standing, bending or carrying moderately heavy items.

Minimum Requirements: • Legal Age: 18 years old • Education or Equivalent Experience: Technical, Trade or Vocational Degree in related field or 2 years Functional Experience • Function Specific Experience: 1 years preferred Certification Requirements: none
