Background and-or Security Investigation required DUTIES:
Practices as a License Practical Nu! rse for the Juneau Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), Juneau, Alaska. The primary care clinic is a system delivering holistic health care ranging from general health issues, internal medicine, mental health, and orthopedics to supporting varying specialty clinics. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Accurately collects data on patients.
Administer prescribed medications.
Document care accurately.
Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Serve as a responsible member of the interdisciplinary team and interact with patients, family members, professional and supportive personnel who provide patient care, and with members of other services.
Safeguard patient privacy and protect patient confidentiality.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

QUALIFICA! TIONS REQUIRED:BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. citizenship.
English language proficiency (written and spoken)
Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accrediting agency and/or National League for Nursing at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Exceptions include: Health care education in the military service or training in the military service which is accepted by the licensing body in the jurisdiction in which the individual is licensed as qualifying for full LPN/LVN licensure will be accepted; 2) VHA employees who converted to appointments under 38 U.S. C 7401(3) in implementation of P.L. 98-160 enacted November 21, 1983, and for VHA employees converted to appointments under 38 U.S.C. 7405 in implementation of P.L. 99-576, enacted October 28, 1986; 3) Individuals granted a license by a jurisdiction that does not require graduation from an approved school.
Must possess and maintain a full, active, current and unrestricted license as a grad! uate/licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia.
Physical standards - All applicants must meet the physical standards for the position. A physical examination prior to employment may be required.

GRADE DETERMINATIONS: The following qualification criteria must be met. The candidate's qualifications must clearly demonstrate the level of competence required for the grade.
GS-6: Completion of at least one (1) additional year of qualifying experience at the GS-5 level or equivalent.
