Mental Health ! Clinician III / TeleBehavioral Health Clinician

API operates as Alaska's only state-owned, 24-hour, 7-day a week mental health facility that provides:

Acute, short-term in-patient psychiatric care for patients whose needs are so great or complex that an appropriate level of care cannot be provided in their home town or community, and
Medium security Forensic Inpatient Services
TeleBehavioral Health Outpatient Services
This position provides Clinical Care Services through the API TeleBehavioral Health Program to a variety of rural and frontier sites.

Utilizing a person-centered treatment and recovery oriented paradigm, the TeleBehavioral Program extends the clinical infrastructure of the hospital to rural and remote regions that do not have itinerant psychiatry services with high quality-high bandwidth video conferencing solutions. API staff psychiatrists and licensed professionals provide an array of consultative and direct services in! cluding assessment, evaluation, crisis intervention, and medic! ation management.

Key Responsibilities:
Screening & Assessment
Treatment planning consultation

Program development

Consultation & Liaison with Alaska Critical Access Hospitals

Consultation to agencies serving our clientele including out-patient providers and assisted living facilities and psychiatrists

Attendance at daily treatment team meetings as needed

Provide consultation guidance

Desired Qualifications:
Experience leading and facilitating a team which includes behavioral health professionals is preferred
Experience interpreting and applying statutes, regulations, and operational procedures specific to behavioral health services is preferred
Demonstrated ability to build strong productive relationships with partners
Exceptional communication skills with internal and external audiences
Knowledge in the use of technology to deliver Behavioral Health Services (preferred! ) Applicants must have a Masters Degree or Ph.D. in one of the Behavioral Sciences And Licensed as a Mental Health Professional in the state of Alaska

Minimum Qualifications:
A doctoral degree from an accredited college in psychology, social work, child guidance, nursing, vocational rehabilitation, or a closely related field.
OR
A master's degree from an accredited college in psychology, social work, child guidance, nursing, vocational rehabilitation, or a closely related field and four years of professional experience performing psychotherapeutic casework. This is met by service as a Mental Health Clinician with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.

Substitution: Graduate study beyond the master’s degree will substitute for up to one year of the ! required professional experience performing psychotherapeutic casework ! (2 semester hours or 3 quarter hours of graduate study equals one month of work experience.)

Special Note:
Some positions require the incumbent be licensed as a Clinical Social Worker. This requirement will be addressed in the job posting.
