Job Summary:
The RN Clinical Resource renders individualized comprehensive intra-operative nursing care to meet the patient's physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs from newborn to elderly. The RN Clinical Resource provides the best possible preventative and supportive intra-operative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure.
The RN Clinical Resource will function as a circulating nurse primarily and as a scrub nurse as necessary. The RN Clinical Resource also assists the OR Supervisor in providing clinical and charge support that reflect JCAHO and Hospital PI standards. Implements and assesses the daily function of nursing care and services provided in the unit on all shifts. The RN Clinical Resource is supportive and knowledgeable regarding the established standards of care and practice, policies and procedure of the nursing services at Alaska Regional Hospital. The RN Clinical Resource Accountable for maintaining and improving own nursing knowledge and skills (competence). Supports hospital's mission and vision statements and goals.
Requirements:
- Current State of Alaska licensure as an RN required.
- Current BLS and ACLS Healthcare Provider certification with the American Heart Association required.
- CNOR certification preferred.
- Three years experience in an intra-operative setting required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required.
- Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment and be able to exert up to 100 lbs. force occasionally, and/or 50 lbs. frequently, and/or 20 lbs. constantly
