Job Posting Summary
Assist with coordinating and providing administrative support for UAS Health Sciences students by providing greater access for individuals seeking a career in the health care professions.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position.
--Understanding of health science related careers --Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills --Excellent customer service skills --Ability to present before large groups, develop workshops, facilitate group meetings/discussions and develop relationships within the community --Ability to work effectively with nontraditional, ethnically diverse, and under prepared students --Strong organizational skills
Typical education or training required for this position (including licenses).
--Bachelor's degree in related field --Master's preferred --Three years post-secondary experience directly supporting the recruitment, retention and graduation of Health Sciences students
Length of time and type of experience required for this position.
--Four years experience working with at-risk student populations in health career related educational support services/programming --Must have experience developing new educational/support programs for at risk student populations with a focus on health career programming is preferred
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities for this position.
Two years experience researching and assessing program models for student support services.

Duty:
--Coordinate outreach efforts between UA Allied Health departments --Participate in implementation and supervision of administrative and service operations --Evaluate and monitor projects according to program policy and stated objectives --Represent program/project on organizational or advisory committees and at meetings, seminars, and conferences --Redesign systems and administrative procedures, as required, with staff and faculty to implement new systems and procedures --Request, collect, organize, and edit materials for publication including newsletters, workshop proceedings, grant proposals, and annual reports --Work closely with faculty, researchers, graphic artists, print shops, and others to complete publications by established deadlines.
--Outreach to inform students, parents and the community about Health Science related careers --Maintain supportive relationships with prospective, pre-major and major students --Assist students to access and effectively utilize university resources --Monitor student progress through regular interaction with students and faculty --Refer students to academic support services --Provide administrative support for program retention and graduation initiatives --Compile statistics needed for inclusion in quarterly and annual project reports
