Key Responsibilities:
Works with elderly residents that experience varying rates of confusion, dementia, as well as physical limitations and will provide behavior intervention with residents when warranted.
Provides medication administration and observation of any reactions, and interacts with residents and families to discuss medical and other issues.
Coordinates referrals for medical and dental care, and contact physicians on an as-needed basis.
Participates as a team member in the development of Assisted Living Care plans for residents; assists team in communicating information and recommendations gained through interaction with residents.
Monitors the status of stable and unstable residents in relation to antic! ipated outcomes.
Recognizes and acts appropriately when a ! resident medical condition changes and informs medical practitioner, family, supervisor, and administrator as appropriate.
Provides a safe environment for residents and staff members by lowering the risks of infections by utilizing the Pioneer Homeâs Infection Control Program.
Maintains interpersonal relationships with supervisor, staff, families, and other care providers which are respectful, positive, focused, and fosters a team atmosphere. You must pass a background and fingerprint check, as well as a Tuberculosis Skin Test before you can start work in this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
A diploma or certificate from an accredited school in practical nursing and eligibility for licensure as a practical nurse with the State of Alaska.
Special Requirements: Physical strength to lift, assist and transfer patients.
Special Note:
For positions in this job class a background investigation including fingerprin! ting is required.
