RN Staff Emergency Department Fellowship

Location: Anchorage Alaska

Provide care appropriate to the developmental level of each patient.

Conduct and documents a comprehensive patient assessment upon admission.

Be responsive to patient and family needs.

Consistently demonstrate and promote safe patient care practices consistent with the National Patient Safety Goals (e.g., patient identification, medication safety and fall reduction).

Qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing.

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska at time of hire.

Twelve to eighteen months of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital preferred.

Schedule varies to meet department needs. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively as a team member.

About the Emergency Department Fellowship

The Emergency Department (ED) RN Fellowship Program is a 16 week emergency nursing orientation program. The ideal candidate will have twelve to eighteen months of recent clinical experience as an RN in an acute care facility. This program builds on each candidate’s knowledge and skill set. The program is modeled on the Emergency Nursing Association’s Orientation to Emergency Nursing. It includes both didactic and clinical components focusing on the varied health needs of the ED patient population.
