Security Officer
Location: Anchorage Alaska
Description: Providence Health & Services is at present recruited Security Officer right now, this vacancy will be placed in Alaska. Support other members by the performance of other duties supporting hospital and departmental functions, including Nursing, CBX and Facilities.
Maintain all aspects of Civil Law and order.
Conduct walking patrols of buildings with emphasis on theft and vandalism prevention and customer relations.
Respond to incidents appropriately, as per hospital and departmental policy and procedures.
Take responsibility for situations encountered and follows through to conclusion or until relieved.
Respond appropriately to all fire emergencies and drills.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school or equivalent required.
Valid Alaska Driver's License.
Must be physically able to rapidly respond to emergent situations, including running in excess of 1/4 mile, and up and down as many as six flights of stairs.
Must be able to restrain and control large patients, in order to protect the patient or other patients and staff. A physical may be required.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
BLS and HAZWOPER must be obtained within the first year of employment, and maintained current thereafter.
Qualification in weaponry of various types, including handguns and chemical gasses preferred.
Three years experience in security or one year experience working in healthcare security preferred.
