Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to work as the Director of Women's Services that is licensed or in the imme! diate process, and qualifies, of obtaining RN licensure in this respective state to work in the specialty area of Women's Services.
The Director is under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, Service Line Director will be responsible for the management of all assigned departments. This position will also oversee and develop various specialty programs. Responsible for employee, patient and physician satisfaction as well as regulatory compliance and corporation standards.
Will develop business plans for service line, build up business. Effectively leads the departments by setting a positive example for staff. Espouses and integrates a philosophy of quality care and sets an example for change and implementation of new concepts. Develops a staffing pattern for the department that ensure a proper number and mix of personnel for quality patient care. Maintains adequate daily staffing to meet department targets and patient needs. Interviews new employee prospects and! hires new employees as needed to adequately staff the unit fo! llowing department budget targets and patient needs. Effectively manages resources to minimize waste and maximize financial performance. Directs education within the department in collaboration with the Clinical Educator. Keeps abreast of current therapeutic modalities and evidence based best practices within the nursing profession and communicates effectively to ensure staff has the information needed to perform duties. Facilitates effective communications with all hospital staff, medical staff, patients, and families by providing and maintaining open lines of communication. Responsible for the evaluation and re-evaluation of employees at least yearly. Supervises the use, maintenance and availability of equipment, supplies, and services by utilizing the appropriate mechanisms and controls.
Requirements include:
Must have graduated from an accredited school with a BSN required. Post graduate degree preferred.
Current state license as a Registered Nur! se (RN) or willing to obtain licensure in another state, assuming that all pre-requisites have been satisfied.
Current CPR certification.
Current BLS card.
5 years experience required, 10 years preferred in all aspects of Critical Care Nursing. Prior management experience preferred.
Must be able to exert up to 100 lbs force occasionally, and/or 50 lbs. frequently, and/or 20 lbs constantly.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assesses patient needs, signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.
Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient ! environment.
Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family educatio! n.
Revises and documents the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursing interventions.
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
