Job Description:
As fiscal agent for the! State of Alaska, Xerox processes prior authorization requests! for a variety of medical equipment, infusion and home health services, hospice, enteral nutrition, incontinence, travel, some drugs, and more. This nurse in this position reviews the requests to determine that the requests meet Alaska Medicaid criteria and approves or denies those requests as appropriate. This person works closely with the provider community to make sure Medicaid recipients are authorized for needed services. This is a busy position with a wide variety of requests and providers you work with each day. Contract mandated deadlines for processing must be met. All other duties as assigned
The position is Monday through Friday 8-5.
Qualifications:
Licensed nurse ( RN or LPN)
Good analytical skills
Familiar with Alaska and the Alaskan Medical community
Good computer skills
Able to meet deadlines
