Professional Performance Development Group is currently interviewing for Registered Nurse/Clinical Nurse (RN)-Family Practice with Infection Control Preventionist duties interested in providing services at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Air Force Base in Alaska.
HOURS OF WORK: Monday â€" Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
THE IDEAL REGISTERED NURSE / CLINICAL NURSE CANDIDATE WILL:
- Implement the Infection Prevention and Control! Program with assistance and support from the Infection Control Function (ICF).
- Maintain an effective Infection Control Prevention Plan by performing or supervising infection surveillance, prevention, and control activities pertinent to the mission as defined by the annual Infection Control Risk Assessment.
- Work jointly with Education and Training (ET), Public Health Flights to ensure a formal orientation and annual in-service training program for all personnel on the principles and practices of the Medical Treatment Facility (MIT). Have Strong working knowledge of the military health care system including TRICARE health benefits.
- Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility. Provides care within ethical and legal boundaries.
- Work for the Chief of the Medical Staff, or designee, in performing duties and responsibilities ! commensurate with the management of the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
THE IDEAL REGISTERED NURSE / CLINICAL NURSE WILL POSSESS:
- The Infection Preventionist will be a Clinical Nurse, a minimum of three years clinical experience in their clinical field or have one year experience as an Infection Prevention/Control nurse.
- Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing pediatric, adolescent, adults, obstetrics, and geriatric patients, as appropriate. Utilizes the nursing process as a basis for professional practice..
- Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions and disease processes across the lifespan, as appropriate.
- Knowledge of disease management and population health principles.
- Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effec! ts, side effects, and complications of their use as well as the accurat! e administration of the pharmacologic agent, including dosage calculations as required.
- Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient conditions including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
