Description: ***LABOR & DELIVERY EXPERIENCE A MUST***
RN must have minimum 2-3 years of OB/L&D experience.
Responsible for providing patient care to Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum, and Neonatal patients in accordance with hospital policies/procedures, nursing standards and practices. Will be required to care for complex OB/neonatal patients who may require stabilization of life threatening conditions. This care includes: management of multiple IV lines, medication admin! istration, and the use of monitoring equipment. Will provide b! asic education to patients and their families on health maintenance, medications, disease process, treatment, diagnostic tests, procedures and discharge instructions. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with co-workers, ancillary staff and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Knowledge, skills & ability: Knowledge of professional nursing care principles, practices and procedures. Professional skill in operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment and assisting with procedures. Ability to maintain current BLS, NRP and Fetal Monitoring certification. Nurse must possess the following:
A current (and not expiring during the time employeed here) BLS & NRP certification.
Flexibility with work schedules
Ability to stand for long hours if necessary
Abilitiy to read and interpret Fetal Monitor strips. Recent (within the last 2 years) fetal heart monitori! ng class preferred
Ability to work 12 hour shifts, variable schedule if necessary.
A valid and unrestricted Alaska Nursing License
