Description: Maniilaq Association is looking of Registered Nurse right now, this vacancy will be placed in Alaska. For detail informations about this vacancy opportunity please read the description below. performs professional nursing duties in the care of adult and pediatric patients in medical/surgical, pediatric, obstetric, ambulatory, and emergency settings in the hospital and during medical evacuation situations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Initiates and utilizes the nursing process to meet the holistic needs of the patients and family while adhering to the professional standards set forth by American ! Nursesâ Association.
2. Observes the patientâs clinical condition: recognizes, identifies, and interprets serious and/or emergent situations while initiating appropriate nursing interventions.
3. Develops and implements patient/family teaching programs based on mutually identified health care goals.
4. Documents all observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures administered, and status of coordinated activities between nursing and other professional disciplines.
5. Evaluates the patientâs plan of care and revises plan as needed.
6. Safeguards the patientâs right to privacy by judiciously protecting information of a confidential manner.
7. Understands the developmental needs of all patients throughout the continuum of life; is able to adjust care to these needs; and documentation reflects this understanding.
8. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual nursing judgments and actions.
9. Provides guidanc! e and leadership to other personnel in the form of in-services! and orientation/preceptorship and participates in committee activities.
10. Assumes charge nurse duties as assigned, including staffing, supervision and decision-making responsibilities.
11. When qualified, volunteers to participate in emergency medevac procedures as needed.
12. Participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement activities.
13. Utilizes incident and medication error reporting protocols per MHC Policies.
14. Participates in continuing education activities.
15. Facilitates patient care across multiple disciplines, departments, and other non-MHC agencies through referrals and other business operations.
Job Qualifications:
Master Degree, baccalaureate Degree, Associate Degree, or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited college or university. Current Alaska licensure as a registered nurse. ACLS preferred; must be willing to get ACLS training within 90 days of hire. Ability to lift up to 70 pounds an! d spend long periods of time standing or walking. May be exposed to communicable diseases and hazardous materials. Must be able to pass the annual core competencies assigned to the unit.
