The FFP HCP shall use accepted medical practices and standards. Independently evaluates, diagnoses, and provides medical treatment to a broad-age range of patients enrolled in the family medicine cli! nic. Determines the need for tests and provides emergency care to accident victims. Provides clinical direction and training to nursing, technician, and other support staff. Shall see up to 22 outpatients per day each day they are scheduled to work in clinic. The FFP HCP shall complete each outpatient encounter in AHLTA at the end of each day or within 72 hours and appropriately close the record. The FFP HCP shall complete each inpatient encounter in the inpatient records in accordance with Army regulations and MTF policies .
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs a wide range of medical duties covering outpatient primary care, general internal medicine, pediatrics, newborn care, obstetrics, and gynecology. Many patients have multiple interacting and acute chronic medical problems such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, arthritis and cancer.
Examines patients, orders and evaluates the full range of radiology and laboratory tests, makes diagnosis and prescribes app! ropriate treatment to include drugs, inoculations, nursing and! dietary care.
Refers to appropriate specialty clinic only when required for evaluation and/or treatment.
Provides prescription renewal and telephonic consultative services as needed.
Periodically provides episodic care to patients. Evaluates and treats patients with multiple complicated problems.
The FFP HCP may teach and provide consultation to other HCPs. Provides medical, consultative services and chart review for quality assurance purposes.
The FFP HCP shall perform inpatient care within the scope of their privileges as a Family Practice Physician.
Indicate responsibility for the contents and correctness of all prepared reports/forms by affixing his/her own signature to the documents and validating their contents.
On Call: Yes. On-call will be in-house at BACH. It will be one weekend per month. The FP Physician will be provided with sleeping quarters at BACH while on-call.
Professional Qualifications
Successfully com! pleted a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from a school in the US or Canada approved by a recognizing accredited body in the year of the applicants application. Graduates of foreign medical schools are required to possess both a medical license and other certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or 5th Pathway.
Successfully completed a post-graduate medical training program in Family Medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and Board Certification through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP).
Possess and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as a physician in any of the 50 United States or U.S. Territories.
Shall have and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted DEA certificate. Shall possess a Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Dr! ugs (BNDD) number as required by state agencies where the provider is l! icensed.
Experience Shall have a minimum of one year of in-patient experience within the last three years working as a Family Practice Physician. Residency training counts as experience.
