Summary:
Under the supervision of the director/manager or designee, the registered nurse provides patient care in response to identified needs. Additional! functions will be performed in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.
Assures quality care through compliance with departmental policies, hospital and external regulatory agency guidelines.
Demonstrates desirable work habits and promotes personal growth and professionalism in the work environment.
Effectively performs the duties and responsibilities of a nurse using the nursing process.
Provides and documents quality patient care consistently according to hospital standards and policy/procedures.
Accepts accountability and responsibility as a member of the department of nursing services.
Experience:
One to two years of L&D nursing experience.
Post partum and couplet care experience is preferred.
Education:
Associates of Nursing required, or Nursing Degree from an Accredited Nursing School.
BSN preferre! d.
Certifications:
Temporary RN license in! Alaska.
Current BLS certification.
NRP preferred.
AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Course is required.
Special Skills:
Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations.
Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities.
Personal computer skills required.
Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers.
Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
