Job Summary: Job incumbent provides family practice care children and adults. Provides some patient care for walk-in clinic at Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center. The care for children will be in accordance with early and periodic screening, diagnosis and treatment program (EPSDTP).
Essential Functions: This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by incumbents. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
Representative Duties: Under the general supervision of the Medical Director, job incumbent will be assigned from the following representative duties:
1. Triage all walk-in patients.
2. Performs medical care at clinic to include; but not limited to, woman’s health, well child, and urgent care.
3. Provides well child screening as prescribed by EPSDTP and makes appropriate r! eferrals and follow up.
4. Order appropriate lab and x-ray on walk-in patient as part of triage function.
5. Performs lab tests to include; but not limited to, wet mounts and urinalysis.

6. Attends clinical and medical staff meetings. Attends other meetings as required or appropriate.
7. Consults with CAIHC physicians on call or other physician as appropriate or when circumstances warrant.
8. Sutures wounds and applies casts.
9. Covers village medical traffic via clinic telephone as needed.
10. Travels to 36 village clinics within the TCC region.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Graduate of an accredited PA training program or Nurse Practitioner Program.
2. State of Alaska license/registry required as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
3. Two years minim! um primary care experience. Additional experience in cross cultural hea! lth care required.
4. Training in radiological technology required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
2. Ability to work in a busy, high volume walk-in clinic with proven skills in patient triage and workload prioritization.
3. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
4. Experience and history handling stress and working under pressure. Qualifications
